During our opening hours, we serve light plates of food: delicious homemade soups, rarebit or cheese to go with the wines. Coffees, tea and hot chocolate are available throughout the day and night.

We have invested in Wine Pods for the bar to preserve up to 16 wines. This allows you to choose from small 25ml tasters or a glass of wine. Have 5 x 25ml tasters to create your own 'flight' of wines to compare or relax with a glass or bottle in our bar or the beautiful glass extension.

Wander up to the first floor to the Presagio or Bossotti rooms to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet with a book and your drink. Or enjoy the privacy with a group of friends. We host wine tastings in the Blasu room with its huge table seating up to 18. Alterantively, hire it for meetings or parties.

The restaurant at Y Meirionnydd Townhouse is in the lower, medieval cellar that up until 1815 housed the County Jail. It has since been transformed into an intimate and comfortable restaurant, whilst upstairs the original dining room of the 1820 townhouse serves as the breakfast room for guests staying with us.
The heart of The Meirionnydd is the bar – to have a drink in whilst browsing the dinner menu, after a long walk along the Mawddach estuary or to catch up on work via our free Wi-Fi.

We have a thoughtfully chosen wine list, quality over quantity, but featuring many of the great grape varieties as well as bottle conditioned beers and probably the biggest selection of gins in the county.

The Gatehouse Steakhouse is an independently owned Steakhouse and Bistro in Dolgellau where you are sure to receive a warm welcome. Whether you are local and visit us regularly or are just passing though we offer a comfortable and relaxed environment to spend time with friends and family.
At the Gatehouse Steakhouse and Bistro we pride ourselves on our fine cuisine, our live music and our friendly atmosphere. All of our meat is locally sourced from alliance award winning butchers T.J. Roberts & sons located down the valley in Bala.

In 2012 we created our beer garden with the help of Jane Parker, award winning designer and landscaper of inspiring gardens across the country. The mix of slate obelisks and agricultural metal works gives our garden a contemporary and tranquil feel.

The Gatehouse acoustic sessions aim to showcase local up and coming musical talent and also provide a platform for entertainment in the town.
